I majored in animation with a focus on stop motion. Stop motion is an art form I've always admired as it combines so many skills. In my stop motion class, I made my first puppet, the "tree man" for class assignments. I loved this puppet so much that Treeman became the lead for my 2D student film, Danger Dwells.
When starting my senior film, I made my puppets twice before deciding to crash course learn needle felting for the bodies. Needle felting is now a hobby I enjoy; every part of animation is a developing skills, and learning about myself as an artist.

Centered is my short film and senior project. It follows an artist and her cyclical struggle of creating while combatting mental health and burnout.
I landed on this concept over the summer going into my senior year. It was something very personal to me that I knew would be felt and understood by my peers.
I spent the first semester of senior year in pre-production and building the set and puppets. The puppets were what brought this project to life for me, as I went through many trials and errors to make them. I spent my final semester filming, editing, and adding sfx.
Completing this project was so fulfilling, and a learning experience start to end.
